2026 Colorado Pollinator Summit

2026 Colorado Pollinator Summit

The 2026 Colorado Pollinator Summit is just around the corner: November 19th and 20th in Boulder. As of this writing, tickets are still available. We think you should go! Why?

You should attend the 2026 Colorado Pollinator Summit!
  1. You will learn up to the minute science on what’s going on with pollinators in Colorado, the US, and beyond. The quality of presentations is excellent.
  2. You will meet impassioned people from advocacy groups in our region and find out how to plug in. Seriously–if you like our nursery, you will find your people at this event. (Hint: a lot of the people on our Resources page will be there.)
  3. We will be there! We are a Bronze Level sponsor! You can talk to us and get added to our email list!
Huh. Why is this brand new native plant nursery sponsoring this summit that seems to be about bugs?

Lena Freij spoke last year on neonicotinoid pesticides on agricultural seeds.
  1. We love “bugs”! Insects are in trouble, and native plants need insects! Birds are in trouble (we love birds), and birds need insects! Insects, birds, and native plants are a big big part of the foundation of the terrestrial food web and provide all kind of ecosystem service for all of us, and they are all just so cool.
  2. Along those lines… we support sustainability. The Colorado Pollinator Summit is about sustainability in that it promotes protection and conservation of a critical part of our world. By sponsoring the Summit, we help make it available and accessible to more people.
  3. A lot of people we like will be there, and we like hanging out with them!

Jacqueline Buenrostro spoke on urban pesticide contamination.
If you can’t attend the summit…
  1. Check out the highlights from last year’s summit on YouTube. (Kristine’s personal favorites were the sessions on neonicotinoid pesticides on seeds and urban pesticide contamination–yeah, we really mean it when we said we don’t use those things. This is exactly why.)
  2. Wait for the highlights from this year’s summit to show up on YouTube. They will start appearing a few weeks after the summit. You should just subscribe to the Colorado Pollinator Network YouTube channel and peruse previous summits while you’re waiting.
  3. Wait for an update from us with our takeaways. We’re planning to post news–like updates to our plant list, progress on our greenhouse setup, and who we’re working with roughly every two weeks, so there is an update due November 20th… we will likely post that one at the end of the day with all of our hot pollinator takes.
Other news:

Check out updates to the species list –we have been actively stratifying more seeds.
